Year 6 Farewell Speech

This is a farewell speech on behalf of Year 6. Slowly but surely, another year has passed. We children never thought we would see a day of all days where we would have to leave Lydgate.

Our stay here has been spectacular; some of us have been here since reception, others a little later.

Gosh! It seems like yesterday we started Lydgate: My personal view and I’m sure all the other children will agree, that when I first came to this school, the first impression was that this place was something special. I had a good feeling that I would be happy here until the end. All the teachers and members of staff were also very helpful

Mr. Avery and Mrs. Jubbs were exceptionally helpful, being 110% supportive all through the year. Our days here at Lydgate are now over, but they couldn’t have been any happier with all the great friends we’ve had since we started.

We would also like to give appreciative thanks to all the teachers at Lydgate. Firstly, I’d like to thank Mrs. Hopwood for all her efforts in helping us and being a great source of comfort and support. She has been a fantastic head teacher and a wonderful role model. Thank you for everything.

Many thanks also to Mr. Avery and Mrs. Jubbs who have been a great help and truly wonderful teachers. We have given soooooo much trouble and grief throughout the year but they have always forgiven us with a smile. Thank you for all the effort you have put into preparing us for our SATs. Also, many thanks to Miss Sloan for helping us in French. Merci!

We also want to thank our parents as well. Without them, we couldn’t have had this opportunity to come to this school and we wouldn’t have been able to become better pupils.

We never thought we would see a day of days when our happiness in this school would come to an end. We dreaded to imagine our last day at Lydgate. But one thing for sure is that we are going to miss this school. Our thoughts are always with this school and it will hold a special place in all our hearts. Thank you for the memories and all the friends we will treasure forever.
