Walking Bus

At last – the walking bus has started. It operates every Thursday from the Working Men’s Club with a maximum of 16 children. If you would like to become a volunteer on the walking bus, please let me know. The more adults we have, the more children can access this scheme. There are still some places available.

Don’t forget – you can also park your car in the Working Men’s Club car park and walk the rest of the way to school. It is a 10 minute walk and would help to keep you fit and reduce the traffic problems outside school

Speedmark Fundraising

Thank you very much for your support with this event. We raised  £ 900  for school funds

Uniform

Please can I remind you that all children are expected to wear school uniform every day. Tracksuit bottoms and hooded tops are not allowed at school.

Celebration / Easter Assemblies

This term we are holding 2 special assemblies. Our celebration / certificate assembly will be on Thursday 6th April at 2.45. Our Easter celebration ‘Easter Around the World’ will be on Friday 7th April at 2.30. I hope you will be able to come along and join us in our celebrations.

Communication

Just a reminder… if you have a concern regarding your child, the first point of contact should be with the class teacher. If you are still not happy, then please contact Mrs Weekes or Mrs Nicholson.

Hometime

We have some children who are late being collected several times a week. Please ensure that you are here to collect your child at 3.30pm. It can be upsetting for children to be left waiting and also causes us difficulties with regard to supervision.

Behaviour

The behaviour of some of our children has been causing us concern recently. We have a detailed behaviour   policy which all staff follow. Part of our policy is a list of actions & consequences. This enables all staff to be consistent when dealing with inappropriate behaviour and means that the children know the consequences of their actions. This list is included here so that you, as parents are also clear as to how behaviour is dealt with.

If a child has been on report twice in a half term, then the third offence will lead to a fixed term exclusion.  Racism will not be tolerated in any form. It is taken very seriously and has to be reported to the LEA. We do need your support when tackling inappropriate behaviour. After Easter we will be starting another reward system in order to praise children for consistently good behaviour.

Mobile Phones

Mobile phones must not be brought to school. If a child is seen with a phone it will be removed and looked after by the class teacher until hometime.

I hope you all have a happy holiday and look forward to seeing you back at school on Monday April 24th.
